Vector has sustained a competitive advantage in seismic data processing by developing leading geophysical tools. A large investment in proprietary software has kept us on the cutting-edge.

We have integrated our proprietary solutions with two dynamic processing systems: ProMAX (UNIX) and Vista for Windows (NT), creating a complete suite of seismic processing tools.

We have a full-time research and development staff dedicated to developing "ground breaking" geophysics. Our development and implementation of: 3D Radon DMO (presented at the SEG International Exposition in Houston, 1995), Tracker 3D Residual Statics, Silencer - 3D Source Noise Reduction (presented at the 1997 SEG International Exposition, Denver), and 3D Phase-Shift Interpolated Migration V(xyz), are examples of our commitment to providing the best technology.

3D Kirchhoff PSTM

A Superior Solution for Complex Imaging and AVO

This robust implementation of the Kirchhoff Method provides excellent solutions for imaging complex faults, intrusives and overthrusts.  The enhanced imaging and ability to produce preserved amplitude offset-dependent data for AVO plays a significant role in improving exploration success.

Rockies Complex Imaging

Radon DMO - 3D Dip Imaging for Full Azimuth and AVO

A method ideally suited for wide azimuth land 3D surveys. Production-proven, it has been used successfully on an estimated 500 land 3D surveys to date. Consistently outperforms EQ DMO, ProMAX 3D DMO, and many other 3D DMOs available for land 3D processing. Trace interpolation or superbinning schemes are not needed to obtain good results on sparsely populated surveys, bin fractionation studies, or irregularly-sampled 3D surveys. Parallel computing has been implemented to provide maximum computing efficiency. Modest system resource requirements are needed relative to other DMOs. Published papers (available upon request) demonstrate advantages for preserved amplitude and high resolution processing. Radon DMO has the distinct advantage of outputting both, full precision gathers and "stack on the fly". Patented in the U.S.; patents pending in Canada and the U.K. 2D version also available.

Tracker - 2D/3D Residual Statics Software

3D autostatics based on Ronen-Claerbout. Fast results that consistently outperform the competition. Special features allow user to handle any kind of data problem including poor signal-to-noise, complex structure, and conflicting dips. It runs 5 to 10 times faster than most competitive programs, greatly reducing velocity statics iteration cycle-time. Extensive internal production use since 1989. 2D version also available.

Silencer - 3D Prestack Noise and Demultiple

This was derived from Radon DMO research work. Successfully attenuates complex, long-period 3D multiples if there is adequate separation in apparent delta-t at far offsets between primaries and multiples. The algorithm also works effectively to suppress source noise (ground roll) and random noise. It is the perfect tool to improve signal-to-noise in 3D gathers for: AVO analysis, velocity analysis, attribute analysis, etc. Performs well on land surveys with poor or non-uniform trace-populations.

PSPI - 3D One Pass Migration

Performs 3D migration on stacked data using phase-shift migration, plus interpolation. It offers, two modules in one (PSPC migration can be obtained by the program when full PSPI is not needed). This is a full V(xyz) migration that can handle complex and/or spatial velocity variations. Parallel computing has been implemented to obtain maximum computing and yield fast results. Current plans include the implementation of a turning wave migration to improve the imaging of "overturned" beds.
